Increasing Fuel Costs in the UK make it the ideal time to save money with a vehicle tracking system.
With the recent fuel duty and oil price increases and with even more to come now is great time for your company to add a tracking system if you run a fleet of vehicles.
A vehicle tracking system can help you to save the fuel used by your company vehicles dramatically so investing in this now is a great idea.
Not only will your company save money now but the impact of the changes in fuel duty to come will be reduced.
Three ways for fuel saving with the help of V-SOL vehicle tracking systems are :
a. Monitor vehicle usage and reduce the amount of time company vehicles are used for personal reasons
b. Plan improved driver routes, providing the most cost effective method of reaching your customers without making countless round trips
c. Track driver behaviour and make sure drivers are trained to not drive in a cost wasting way – such as excessive speed or leaving the vehicle idling
Ways A Vehicle Tracking System Saves Money
Saving money is actually better than making money, and a V-SOL Vehicle Tracking System saves our customers thousands, even hundreds of thousands of pounds per year. Our Vehicle Tracking Systems feature many ways that make tracking vehicles and streamlining operations simple.
Use less fuel and stop speeding drivers
It is a fact that reducing speed by 10MPH increases fuel efficiency by 20%. Many customers report £150 savings per 10 vehicles in one month by keeping their drivers at a maximum of 65MPH. The owner of one company reported saving £4000 over two months just in fuel costs. Do the numbers for your business and add up your possible savings. The pounds add up fast—here’s a simple example with a very conservative estimate: 50 vehicles reduce speed and save £10 each per week in fuel costs. That’s £26,000 in a year. Slowing down a speeding driver can also limit tickets, accidents and litigation against your company.
Limit unnecessary trips and unauthorised use
Customers tell us their employees off-route driving completely ends once they know a vehicle tracking system is installed in their vehicle. No more extended lunches, driving off-route to go home to eat, run errands, etc. How valuable is that?
One customer reported that one driver was travelling home 60 miles per day when they should have been working. That’s a potential savings of £15-£20 in fuel per day. And that’s just for one driver. Imagine what you can save if everyone stays productive.
Ensure proper work hours, lunch breaks and overtime records
This is self explanatory, and another area where you can save thousands of pounds per year. Employees won’t likely record bogus work, lunch or overtime hours if they know their work vehicle is being tracked. If you can gain just 30 minutes of productivity each day could save as much as £1500 per employee each year. How many drivers do you have?
The more your workers actually work and record correct information, the more your business is operating cost-efficiently. The immediate impact V-SOL vehicle tracking system units provide in this category is mentioned quite often by our satisfied customers.

Monitor company fuel purchases
Let’s face the facts–fuel will only ever get more expensive, and some employees try to cut corners and cut money out of your bottom line. Can you afford even one employee stealing £20 in fuel every week (£1040/year) from your fuel account? That’s £1040 you could keep in the business! This is another area where questionable purchases can be tracked and verified with our easy-to-use Vehicle tracking software.
Theft prevention
Track all your vehicles and know whenever your vehicle is started or moved outside of your rules. This feature gives you peace of mind 24/7/365.
To summarize, the above, many companies find a return of their investment of over 5 times the cost of implementing a V-SOL vehicle tracking system.

It is 100% certain that many businesses will suffer in the coming months and most probably next couple of years with a loss of income as the impact of the imminent government spending revue and resulting cuts ripple through the UK economy.
If you have not yet fitted vehicle tracking because of employee resistance the spending review give you an opportunity to make the change.
All employees know of the impending cuts and armed with this you can reasonably justify fitted tracking as means of identifying essential savings as failure to do so could well result in having to lay people off for a period or even worse make them redundant. A really good way to focus the minds of employees
For help in making the change contact V-SOL @ info@v-sol.co.uk and quote spending review in the subject line and we will help you.

Why a Real Time Vehicle Tracking System can make such a difference
Are you looking to streamline your business? Perhaps you want to save expenditure? If you have a fleet of vehicles then a vehicle tracking system might be right for you.
We will look at how commercial vehicle tracking can help you find the savings you need.
Vehicle tracking system savings
The first area of savings is in operational costs. Drivers will have to work more efficiently because you will see any wasted time. aggressive driving or those who speed. It is possible to save up to 35 percent on fuel when you track a vehicle’s speed, idle, and routes. Other savings can be made in operational areas such as wage claims, penalty payments, and communication costs. With tracking you know where your drivers are at all times because you have real time vehicle visibility.
A real time vehicle tracking system allows you to know exactly where each vehicle is and get data regarding their speed, route, and time to their destination. You also take reports to see if they are off target or stopping at an unscheduled location. Since you do not have to use mobile phones as much to ask where your drivers are and can use communication as part of the tracking device you save revenue there as well.

A Vehicle Tracking System is about more than saving money It is also about protecting your employees. There are times when vehicles are targets of hijackings or inappropriate behaviour can lead to safety issues. In fact in 2007 the Corporate Manslaughter and Homicide Act was changed stating any company employee could be found guilty of manslaughter and face prison time. With tracking you are able to enforce responsibility behind the wheel and send help when it is required. Even if your driver has a flat tyre or a heart attack you can get them help faster with tracking systems.
About the V-SOL vehicle tracking system

Vehicle tracking systems work best when they fit the business. Many organisations fail to get the best or even anything worthwhile at all from the systems they buy because they have not looked closely enough at whatever is being offered by the provider they choose. The news article linked below from India highlights just how easy it is to run into problems when implementing a vehicle tracking solution.
V-SOL are specialists in GPS tracking having been manufacturing and supplying live tracking systems longer than anybody else in the UK. From the very beginning our aim was to supply a “solution” rather than just a “system” in fact our original name was Vehicle Solutions. We only changed this as some people thought we were a car leasing company!
In fact our first solution came about as we needed a systems for our own business. The leading suppliers of the day namely Minor Planet and Datatrak both told us we did not really need what we were seeking.
Ever since then we have specialised in providing our customers with tailored systems. Whilst the investment is a little larger on the face of it what matters most of all is what you get from the solution and this is where having a system designed around you pretty much guarantees you success. We are able to promise this and build it into any agreement we make to supply systems. That way we are truly partners and motivated to see that the customer gets a solution that delivers rather than a generic solution that may or may not work for them.

With parts of the UK already having seen snow this festive season, weather forecasters are slashing odds on the chances of a white Christmas, with further snow fall expected over the Christmas holidays.
While snow is always popular with the kids for sledging and building snowmen, out on the roads it can be a different matter. Non-essential journeys can always be cancelled in bad weather, but for drivers who have to work no matter what the conditions snow fall can be a serious problem.
However, with a vehicle tracking system, both drivers and fleet managers can enjoy added peace of mind. Fleet managers know the exact location of vehicles, so should any drivers get into trouble then they will know the precise location, so that help can reach them as quickly as possible.
To find out more about the advantages of vehicle tracking please get in touch.

Any company with a mobile workforce is able to increase its visibility through branded vehicles. These vehicles can get your company seen by thousands of people throughout the UK without you having to spend thousands on a marketing campaign.
However, as much as this exposure can benefit your company, you also need to consider the potential damage to your reputation should one of your drivers be seen driving dangerously. In a company vehicle, it’s easy for the public to report examples of dangerous driving, which also means that they’re unlikely to want to use your services for any future business requirements.
With a good vehicle tracking system, not only can you monitor all of your drivers’ whereabouts, but you can also monitor the style of their driving and make sure that they’re not breaking any speed limits.
Tracking can offer you peace of mind, plus any accusations of dangerous driving or speeding can be challenged and verified. To find out more please give us a call

With the safety of foreign lorries being called into question in the news this week, the focus is once again on the impact dangerous driving has on UK road users.
Reports of drivers breaking the speed limit, driving for longer than the 10 hour a day maximum, overloading and having unroadworthy vehicles were highlighted in news reports, with the Transport Select Committee calling for sweeping changes to improve safety.
The Czech Republic was highlighted as one of the worst offenders, with over 60% of drivers who were stopped on UK roads in 07/08 found to be unroadworthy. Polish, Hungarian, Belgian, German and Italian trucks were also brought under the spotlight.
Many in the industry will recognise the concerns highlighted. UK drivers are some of the best in the World, and with the focus we put on controls and management safety is a priority. This is helped by the latest tracking technology – something more countries need to embrace. With our telematics systems companies can easily monitor everything from the length of driving time, to average speeds, stops made and much more.
This insight into performance allows companies with a mobile workforce – from HGVs through to small vans – to more effectively manage operations, enhance safety and improve their corporate reputation. All key in an increasingly competitive market.

Out of the recession that is. The truth is nobody knows when the UK economy is going to bounce back, but we are hopeful of some early signs.
We’re getting more enquiries, particularly from businesses keen to take greater control over their operations and cost base. One thing the recession has done is quickly show any business with a mobile workforce the importance of managing operations more efficiently – and effectively.
When every penny counts, being able to reduce elements such as fuel costs and ensure driver working hours are more productive can be the life blood of the business.
It’s easy for us to say – we know the benefits good vehicle tracking can bring to a business – we’ve delivered them for many businesses. But, if you don’t know, why not take a little time to find out? It needn’t take long, and it could be the boost you need to keep afloat until the end of the recession is in site.

Throughout the UK businesses are being faced with a challenging market that is forcing them to make some tough decisions in order to survive the economic downturn. Cut backs are being made left, right and centre, but the question is, where do you draw the line?
Financial directors up and down the country are looking at all outgoings and seeing which are expendable and unfortunately, this is when vehicle tracking comes under threat. However, as much as it is true that there is a cost to a vehicle tracking service, when this service is used correctly, the savings made more than cover this.
The key is to make sure that all services that you do subscribe to are the best available option to you and also that you are using them to your best advantage. For example, with tracking, if you can see that drivers are taking a route that is twenty miles longer than an alternative road, then don’t just record this information – do something about it and save yourself the money on fuel.
We’ve recently received a £30k order from our longest standing client, which just goes to show how companies can use tracking as a central tool in their business development.
When integrated into a company’s business strategy, tracking can help you make considerable savings – and is certainly not an expendable outgoing.

Here’s something that’s close to my heart – parking tickets and speeding fines! Having recently been the victim of a speeding fine overseas, when I was nowhere near the specified location, it’s something I’m feeling particularly aggrieved about.
For businesses up and down the UK that have a mobile workforce it can be a nightmare. If your driver insists he’s not responsible, how do you get to the truth without spending plenty of both time and money?
For many companies vehicle tracking is now proving to be the answer – it can show where a driver was and when, all mapped out and offering irrefutable proof. BUT – and it it’s a big but – your tracking system has to be reliable. Imagine trying to use your tracking reports as proof, only to have them discredited. You need a system that will stand up in court every time, proving beyond doubt that there’s no way your driver could have committed the offence.
The right system may be a few pence more expensive, but what price is peace of mind when it comes to defending your company and your workforce?
